Let's Talk Hair:Special Occasion Styling

I made the mistake of reviewing the hair styles that the celebrities were sporting at the Golden Globes.  I felt really disappointed.  I remember a time, not long ago; when women and men looked polished when they were off to such a formal event.  I noticed many of the celebrities looked as
if they just rolled out of bed.  There were a few who took pride in their tresses, but few and far between.  It disgusts me!   THESE are the people we look to for trend setting?  The only trend I saw was a group of overpaid celebrities; that neglected to present themselves appropriately for this event.  I also wonder, what is so special about the stylist’s that dress these very public
figures?  I take great pride in my work.  Making sure my client’s leave my chair looking polished, is something I strive for everyday.  Especially for such a formal event!  My hat goes off to the celebrities and their stylist’s who share my sentiment.  The rest of them leave me in dismay.  Till next time.  Michele Lynn

Let's Talk Hair: Healthy Scalp=Healthy Hair

We all want healthy looking hair, but, did you know that a
healthy scalp is how we can achieve it? Everyday our hair and scalp is compromised by environmental and ingested
toxins.   What we put in our body is what
we get out of it.  Eating a healthy diet
and drinking plenty of water, not only keep our bodies working optimally, but
also keep our hair and scalp healthy as well. Our skin is our body’s largest organ. Rene Furterer has spent years researching this very subject.  All of their products nourish the scalp.  The product I would like to focus on today is
Complexe 5.  It stimulates the scalp with
essential oils of orange and lavender. Deep cleansing the scalp and strengthening the hair from the root
bulb.  Complexe 5 increases
microcirculation, resulting in a much more effective scalp treatment.  It is the first step in the hair care line
and from what I have seen, a very necessary and effective step.  When used regularly it will increase healthy
hair growth.  Since I have started using
it, my hair has never looked better!  It
is applied to a dry and unwashed scalp. Massage in and let sit for 5-10 minutes. Shampoo out.  This product is not
to be used 4 days before or after a chemical service.  Get on the road to recovery with Complexe
5.  You will see dramatic results in your
hair and scalp!  Till next time.  Michele Lynn

Let's Talk Hair: Dry Shampoo

Everyone has been asking me about Dry Shampoo.  The questions range from: What is it? What does it do? Is it O.K. to use on my hair?  My answer to these questions is this.  The only Dry Shampoo that I have used and loved is by Rene Furterer.  It comes in an aerosol spray and is so easy to use and apply.  You just spray it on like hairspray.  It gives a great little pick me up for the mid day hair blahs.  It comes in two sizes, large and a handy little purse size.  It is safe to use on all hair types.  I believe every woman should keep this in her hair arsenal.  You never know when you will need it.  It is sold wherever Rene Furterer products are sold.  We just recently took on the line and are very pleased with it.  Stop by and experience it for yourself.  You will not be disappointed!  Till next time.  Michele Lynn

Let's Talk Hair:Do It Yourself Hair Color

O.K. Ladies and Gentlemen, I want to first commend those of you who attempt at home hair color and are successful.   The reality is a large number will try and fail miserably.  Too many times we have clients calling us in a panic.  OMG!  My hair is orange!  My hair is green!  It was just supposed to be a beautiful chocolate brown, now it is jet black!  My hair is completely fried!  These are just a few examples of the calls we receive and there are almost always tears to follow.  How do we stop the bleeding!?  We need to perform a color correction.   This is a very costly and time consuming service that could be easily avoided.  Now I ask you, would you attempt to remove your own gallbladder?  I’m guessing no.  So, why would you attempt to color your own hair?  Performing a color service is an art and if done by a professional will keep the hair healthy and beautiful.  If you are thinking about color, call your stylist. Schedule an appointment for a consultation.  Our job is to help you choose the best color for you.  Everyone wins in the end and the best part is; no tears.  Till next time.  Michele Lynn

Let's Talk Hair: Keeping Your Look Current

I recently attended The Scorpions concert.  You know; the very popular 80’s rock band.  Anyway, as I was looking around I found myself completely horrified!  Ladies and Gentlemen, it is 2010!  I was in a 1982 time warp and it was not pretty.  Everyone has a stylist, and if you do not; I think it is important to forge ahead and build a relationship with a professional.  Talk to your stylist.  That is what we are here for.  Our job is to listen and guide.  Ask us questions.  We will create a shape specifically for you.  Your face shape will largely dictate what the best style is for you.  We can take a current trend and adjust it to fit your lifestyle and sometimes what is hot is not hot for you.   Communication is the key to successful client - stylist relationship.  Our job is to make you feel good about yourself.  Your look should represent who you are today, not who you were three decades ago.  I urge you.  Make an appointment today!  It may change the course of your life.  Till next time.  Michele Lynn
